The girls and I spent a snowy Sunday afternoon baking Christmas cookies. We have to have something to leave for the big guy. Elliette even got in on the fun (sorta). Such a fun and messy tradition! We skipped over some things this year (no lights on our house) but this was one I wanted to make sure we squeezed in.

Twinkle the Elf
The girls have been looking forward to Twinkle's arrival all year! He came back with and Elf breakfast. Hot cocoa, reindeer donuts, peppermint granola bars and reindeer shaped grahams adorned out table. They even got festive plates and cups! Twinkle left notes about things he'd be watching for and reminded them to be good!
Already up to no good; swapping our stockings for undies! |
Ellie enjoyed breakfast too! |
Coloring Strawberry Shortcake (I think he has a crush). |
Breakfast with Santa
Elliette's first visit with Santa. |
We went with some of our favorite people to eat breakfast with Santa. We met Aunt Tamra, Georgia and June as well as Lisa, Adele and Gabe at Sacred Heart for breakfast with Santa. We caught flying pancakes and told Santa what we'd like for Christmas (Lilly:Crayola Light-up White board, Harper:Guitar, Mom: leather purse.) Then we headed to the library and spotted a hunt for goodies. The girls picked up as many treat bags filled with candy and toys as they could carry! The library had a read aloud of the Polar Express and a model of the train, complete with a real-life "train guy," as Harper called him. Finally we watched the Polar Express movie complete with hot chocolate and popcorn. I hadn't really planned on staying but Lilly found one of her friends from school so we did.

Meet Elliette Ash
Elliette Ash Henning was born at 1:05pm on October 3rd at McLaren Central Michigan Hospital. She weighed 8 pounds, 12 ounces and was 20 1/2 inches long. It was a quick labor and delivery! Levi actually got to deliver her.
We went home the very next day (Friday) but then Elliette and I had to head back in Saturday night because she was jaundiced. She spent 24 hours under some blue bili lights and was hooked up to an IV for hydration. We got to go home Sunday evening. The first week was a little rough between the jaundice and then a little weight scare later in the week at a doctor's appointment. All is good now though!
She has seamlessly fit right into our family and we feel like we are complete! The real fun has only just began. Raising 3 girls! Oh boy! (er, Oh girl!??)
