Mackinac Island

 The Henning Family took a trip to Mackinac Island.  Lilly claims this was all her idea and "everyone is going to be impressed."  This girl LOVES Mackinac Island.  This is her third trip in about a year.  We all had a great time.  We missed Matt and Kara because they were busy taking care of the newest member of the Henning family-Andrew Joseph (Baby Drew).

 Mom, dad, Kate, Dave, Harper and I went on a horse drawn carriage ride while Levi and Lilly, Tamra and Josh and Georgia rode bikes around the island.

 We stopped at our favorite brunch spot on the way home on Sunday.  Then, some of us went to Traverse City to meet Drew.  The girls aren't allowed in the NICU but they sure can't wait to meet their newest cousin! 

 This is how I found Harper and Lilly sleeping.  Poor Lilly.  That girl goes to sleep and barely moves all night, not making a sound.  Harper, on the other hand, snores, breaths loudly and tosses and turns!  

I should note that I was about 31 and 1/2 weeks pregnant on this trip.  I always forget to do that.  Still hanging in there.  We're in the home stretch now! 

Sleeping Bear Dunes

Levi and I thought it was appropriate to take the girls to the place where it all began!  We headed up to one of our favorite spots in Michigan, Sleeping Bear Dunes.  We stayed in Glen Arbor where we visited some cool shops and ate dinner at Boonedocks.  This is the restaurant Levi and I ate at immediately after we were engaged and we ran into my good friend Seanna.  I remember thinking at the time that it would be fun to take our kids back to some day.  

We stopped in Glen Haven and toured the Canning Museum, headed to Empire for lunch at a diner and then took the Senic Drive to show them where daddy asked mommy to marry him.  =)  Needless to say, they were impressed with the massive amounts of sand but could probably care less about dad's proposal!

 I remember being here as a kid but I don't know if I climbed the dunes or not.  I opted out this time, of course.  I can barely walk down a sidewalk without getting short of breath at 32 weeks pregnant, let alone climb a sand dune! See Levi and Lilly in green and pink? 

 Harper is SUCH a lover and snuggler!  I love it!

4th of July in Petoskey

We went up to Matt and Kara's to spend a few days over the 4th.

Uncle Matt took Lilly for a motorcycle ride around Walloon Lake! She loved it!

Seriously.  They didn't know they were both making a face. They just do this.

We went to the 4th of July parade in Boyne City with Uncle Matt and Aunt Kara.

Petoskey State Park was soo busy they turned us away.  So we went to a little park in Petoskey which had just enough sand and water to keep these girls happy. 

Afterwards, the girls and I stopped at the Bob-in for frozen custard.  This is Harper and Lilly at almost the exact same age, in the exact same spot, in the exact same chair! 

This is Lilly, 3 years later.  Still got that same fake smile!

Harper Olivia

Age: 2 years and 7 months

Likes: Princesses, dress-up, purses, jewelry, baby dolls, swimming lessons, slides, coloring on walls, lettuce, most fruit, doing things "by myself." 

Latests Accomplishments: blowing bubbles in the pool, peeing and pooping on the potty, learning how to correctly say "Ipad." 

Things she says funny: "Can I want it?" (Can I have it?),  "Pinana" (banana), "Gave" (Gabe, her friend. Usually she refers to him as Roman, which is another friend), "Cajamas" (pajamas), Princess-rella (Princess and Cinderella combined) "Plush" (flush)

Favorite People: daddy, papa/grandpa (either one-she talks about them constantly), Lilly

Dislikes: watermelon, bugs, Lilly's pet turtle, dirt, most vegetables (except corn on the cob and lettuce).  

Last day of Kindergarten

Lilly had a wonderful year in kindergarten.  I can't believe how much she learned and matured in 1 school year!  She made lots of new friends, learned how to read and can do simple math that impresses even me!  If I've said it once, I've said it a million times: where does the time go?!  I can't believe she'll be moving on to 1st grade.  They really do grow up fast.  Good thing we're adding 1 more to the family and get to do this all over again. 

Oh gosh.  We have to do start from the beginning and do this all over again?!  Bring it on! 

Kindergarten Graduation

Where has the time gone?  I can't believe Lilly has finished her first year of school!  She has learned SO much!  We are so proud of her.
