Fire Station

Today Lilly and I went to visit the Fire Station. It's Fire Safety Week, after all! Lilly was a little nervous to sit in the fire truck by herself but she got in the back of a few of the trucks. Here she is behind the driver's seat in the fire engine. She (of course) is concerned about the buckle. Safety first, right?

We also ate some ice cream...even though it was only 50 degrees outside....

At our fire station they have a slide instead of a fireman's pole. We got to go down the slide together.

This is most of the slide, minus a few twists. It feels like it's never going to end when you're going down it! This is the second time I got to go down the slide! I went with my first graders when I was doing my student teaching.

We came home with a bag full of pencils, erasers, temporary tattoos, stickers, coloring pages, and brochures about fire safety. Lilly really enjoys stickers these days so she put them all on her shirt at once! That's fine with me as long as I remember to take them off before I wash it....
