Thanksgiving at the Henning's

We spent Thanksgiving at the Henning's this year. We had a wonderful time playing dominoes and spending time with Grandpa and Grandma LaBrosse as well as Aunt Debbie and Jim. Here are some photos to capture the fun.

Playing with Uncle Matt

Aunt Kate got a new puppy. Bosley snuggled up on her back!

Lilly got to play with Aunt Kara too.

Levi Wins!

Levi wins the bet. Lilly is defintely walking now! Here are some videos as proof that she can actually do it. She hasn't had any major accidents yet but I see a goose-egg in her future! She went from two and three steps on Friday and Saturday to 5 and 6 steps on Sunday to walking across the living room on Monday. I was terribly sick with the stomach flu on Monday so I tried not to get too close to her but I couldn't help watching her toddle from one end of the room to another! She turns 15 months old on Sunday. I will post another blog closer to then with all her other 15-month accomplishments. For now, enjoy the videos!

Notice how in both of these videos she is walking AWAY from me?? Hmph! After months and months of coaxing and teaching her she doesn't even come to me! I guess that's what being a mom is all about. Teaching them to do things so they can be more independent.....and eventually walk away. *Tear*

Lilly Does the 2-Step

Ok, so Lilly's not walking yet but she IS trying. That's what's important, right? She's defintely getting braver and I'm sure she'll be taking off before we know it. I said she'd walk before Halloween. Obviously, I lost that bet. Levi said she'd walk before Thanksgiving. Well, Lilly has less than 2 weeks to walk or Levi loses the bet too! Everyone keeps saying we don't really want her to walk because she will be into everything. I think she gets into just about everything as it is so I'm not sure it makes a difference whether she walks or crawls to get there!

Halloween Night

Lilly's Pumpkin. All of our pumpkins.

Lilly with the pumkins. She looks a little worried because it was pitch black outside and she couldn't see me calling to her.

We went to visit Kaity in her dorm room. They pass out candy in the dorms.

Lilly got her first sucker from Kaity and the girls. Yum, yum. A Dum-dum!

We also went to grandma and grandpa's house. I took her trick or treating. We only made it to two houses until I remembered why she was supposed to be walking by Halloween....she's too heavy to carry! My arms were about to fall off!

Lilly and I. Not the best angle to take a picture of me though.

School Halloween

I took Lilly to school with me on Friday morning. She had a wonderful time playing with all my students and crawling around under thier desks. Most of my girls enjoying playing "little mommy" with her, carrying her around, shoving toys in her hands, catering to her every need, etc. Levi came to pick her up in the late morning because the school went roller skating in the afternoon.

Carving Pumpkins

On Thursday night, I carved the pumpkins. Lilly observed. Tara came over and we decided to strip Lilly down to her diaper and let her have a "sensory experience" (that's what I'm calling it, at least.) T first she didn't want to touch the pumpkin guts but once she got into it, she loved it! She cried when I finally picked her up to take her to the bath tub!

Halloween Shirt

Lilly in one of many Halloween outfits which she wore this week to the babysitter's. She's playing with a gourd mumma brought home from school.

Winter Warm

Earlier this week I bought Lilly a warm winter coat and coordinating snow pants. I made her try them on. I couldn't believe what a big girl she looked like! Now she just needs some boots.
